Dear Andersonians,
On Friday, February 2, the City Council and administrative staff will gather for the annual planning retreat to discuss the issues and challenges expected during 2007. Many good initiatives and projects are progressing well, while others still need our time, creative energies, and dollars to forge ahead. As the newest member of this team, I'm looking forward to the individual and collective perspectives of the nine elected officials aided by the capable staff.
This year, we will harness our energies around a theme – Leadership in Motion. Why? Because strategic planning is more than simply devising a plan. It requires action. Specific action. This means leading ourselves into action as a cohesive, thought-provoking group. Leading our citizens forward via the specialized city services and the overall quality of life arena that you expect. Leading our municipalities forward as the county seat of local government.
In other words, the Anderson City Council will be setting the pace for 2007. This is serious and exciting work and definitely forward motion. Stay tuned, and just "imagine" what's yet to come!
