Cemetery Supervisor
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Managing City of Anderson owned cemeteries. Coordinating all cemetery activity, including selling and preparing graves, maintaining cemetery grounds, and performing related work; Working under the general supervision of the Public Works Director; Supervising workers assigned to the Cemetery Department; Developing plans and schedules for routine grounds and graves maintenance and to ascertain number, nature, and time schedule for priority activities, such as grave digging and lining, grave marker placement, and disinterment; Determining crew and equipment requirements for each maintenance and priority activity and assigns specific tasks to subordinates; Periodically observing ongoing work to ascertain if work is being performed according to instructions and will be completed on schedule; Demonstrating and explaining tasks, such as pruning shrubs and finishing cement, and use of equipment, such as backhoe, power lawnmower, and casket lowering device, to train new workers; Performing manual labor to accomplish any and all functions of the Cemetery Department, including, but not limited to, opening and closing graves, installing foundations for monuments, and building and ground maintenance; Preparing annual budget for department; supervising workers engaged in opening and closing mausoleum vaults; Filling in for other positions in the department and performing related duties as required;
Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent; Three years of experience in equipment operation and ground maintenance, with some experience as a supervisor; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Beginning salary for Cemetery Supervisor is $31,519 to $39,399 annually depending on qualifications. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Aquatic Supervisor
Plans, organizes, and coaches a competitive swim program for youth and adults; assists with the supervision of aquatic recreation, lifeguard staff and facility operation. Works under the general guidance and direction of the Aquatics Director.
Responsibilities include supervising assistant swim coach and lifeguard staff, plans and prepares for swimming workouts, swim meets and other team activities, conducts dry land and pool workouts for each age group, coaches swimmers at United States Swimming meets, supervises, trains and evaluates the assistant swim coach, promotes good public relations with media, schools, community organizations and general public for competitive swim program, maintains accurate records of each swimmer's accomplishments and helps the swimmers set goals, attends ASC meetings and provides information support, attends South Carolina Local Swim Committee meetings to represent the Anderson Swim Club, coordinates competitive swimming program and maintains calendar of all scheduled activities, prepares correspondence and reports for participants, staff members and other involved in competitive swimming program or events as necessary, assists with supervision of lifeguard staff, aquatic recreation and facility operation, works on a flexible schedule and provides periodic reports to Aquatics Director as necessary.
Bachelor's degree in Recreation Administration, Physical Education or related field and 3 years of experience in coaching competitive swimming or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Member of American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA). Knowledge of competitive swimming strokes, motivational techniques, workouts and other aspects of coaching.

Storm Water Manager – Public Works Division
The Storm Water Manager is responsible for the administration of operational activities of the City's Storm water Management Program/Utility to ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations and programs while assisting the Engineering Department with special projects, administrative, operational and technical activities. Employee is required to perform all similar or related duties. Maintains and regulates the Stormwater management plan and necessary ordinances required for implementation. Coordinating all field sampling and other activities related to watershed water quality.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Reviewing all public and private site grading permits for Stormwater compliance by applying knowledge of federal, state and local floodplain/Stormwater laws to ensure compliance, checking that detention is engineered correctly, interpreting floodplain discrepancies, reviewing sediment and erosion controls and checking other engineers/architects work for compliance; Managing master planning of the Stormwater drainage basins within the City by determining which basin to study, preparing Request for Proposals (RFP's), evaluating proposals, preparing and administering contracts, directing a team of consultants, and managing for billing and completeness; Managing Stormwater capital improvement programs by determining which projects should be designed and constructed with the available monies, preparing RFP's for design, administering contract, directing consultant and reviewing for completeness and constructability. Also placing project out to bid and reviews contractors' bid packages, awards contract, and oversees construction of project; Overseeing Stormwater taskforce to determine needed improvements throughout the City Stormwater system that can be constructed by City crews. Managing the design of all remedial projects.
Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, Public health, environmental science, or related field from an accredited college or university; and five (5) years practical experience in environmental monitoring, sampling, and water quality data analysis; and two (2) years supervisory experience in water quality and environmental administration, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in civil engineering, construction management, or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and databases is desirable.
