State Basketball Champions

The 12-under girls' basketball team from the City of Anderson Parks and Recreation Department recently won the SCAP state championship. To qualify, they had to place first in the Western District tournament held in Seneca. They did this by defeating Clemson, Walhalla and Westminster. The team moved on to the state tournament held in Abbeville and won handily with combined scores of 146-66 over Abbeville, Simmons Life Center, and Sumter. The team was coached by Terry Turman, Loretta Telley, Willie Mattress, and Charles Scott.
