In February 2008, City Council approved funds to review and update the original recreation master plan which was completed in 2000. Arbor Engineering (Greenville, SC) was the firm selected to carry out this process. Arbor obtained the necessary information through community input, surveys and on-site visits to develop conceptual plans for several of the City's parks and recreational facilities, as well as a comprehensive greenway and trails system. It is projected that the total plan represents $30 million dollar of improvements over a 15-20 year period.
