Cancellations
For game cancellations due to inclement weather, call (864) 226-2489 after 4:30 p.m.
After 5:00 p.m., the decision will be made at the field.
Promise to Kids
The City of Anderson Recreation Department recognizes the value of youth sports on publicly owned facilities and as a community working together we will do our best to deliver on these promises to our kids.
We promise to provide you the opportunity:
- For a Fun, Safe, Positive environment in which to participate
- To participate under the supervision of positive role models that will help focus on developing skills, teamwork, sportsmanship and how to win and lose graciously
- For all participants to play regardless of skill or ability
- To build self-confidence and self-esteem while respecting oneself and others
- To make new friends
- To continue to improve and enhance the quality of your youth sports experience
Baseball and Softball
League play begins in April and runs through the end of June. Registration begins in early February and continues until all available playing spots are filled. You must sign up early to guarantee your spot, even if you are a returning player. Until we receive a current player form, we do not know your intentions for this season.
Baseball
Softball
Age groups:
- Baseball players must be 4 years old by April 30
- T-Ball – 4-to-6-Year-Olds (six-year-olds can play if they have played two years of tee ball)
- Coach-Pitch – 7 and 8-Year-Olds
- Cal Ripken – 10-Under
- Cal Ripken – 12-Under
- Fastpitch – 14-and-under Recreational
- Fastpitch – 16 Recreational
- Softball players must be seven years old by January 1
- Coach Pitch – 8-Under
- Modified Fastpitch – 10-Under
- Modified Fastpitch – 12-Under
- Fastpitch – 13-16 year olds
Basketball
League play begins in January and runs through the end of February. Registration begins for both boys and girls in mid-October and continues until all sports are filled.

Football and Cheerleading
- Football Contract
- Cheerleading Contract
- Football players and cheerleaders must turn 7-years-old by and cannot turn 13-years-old on or before November 30.
- Football ages: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12
- Cheerleading ages: 5-12
- Cost for both:
- $35, City Residents
- $55, Non-City Residents
- Birth certificate and proof of residency are required when registering.
- Football jerseys will be provided.
- Football players must provide own football equipment.
