Huntington Hills Lake Restoration

Excavation phase (phase I) began March 16, 2009, and was completed July 2009. Approximately 22,000 cubic yards of material was removed from the lake.
Spillway phase (phase II) began June 29, 2009, and was completed April 2010.
This project improves water quantity and quality in the Cox Creek watershed. Natural flow reductions from the 100-year-storm event will be 70 percent. Reducing flow this much will reduce downstream flooding and in-stream velocity, which will reduce downstream stream bank erosion.
