Infrastructure Reimbursement Program
The City of Anderson's Infrastructure Reimbursement Program is under review and analysis. While the goal of the program has been to provide an incentive to encourage development, adequate revenue sources must be available to afford the public services needed. The program is suspended until the program criteria is determined and adopted by City Council.
Downtown Facade Grants
To continue to enhance the revitalization of downtown Anderson, the City offers up to $2500 per storefront in matching funds to upgrade downtown building facades. Also, the unique program provides free technical assistance—from architectural designs to competitive bidding. Grants are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are available annually.
Business Development Department
The Business Development Department provides low-interest loans as "gap financing" for downtown businesses or other targeted areas. This type of financing is available for new businesses as well as the expansion of existing businesses. The Business Development Department's primary focus is to create jobs and provide benefits to people with low-to-moderate incomes.
