There’s something special about gathering outdoors on a warm evening, settling in with family and friends, and enjoying a live performance. Since 2015, Theatre in the Park has been creating those memorable moments in Anderson, bringing high-quality productions to some of our community’s most beloved public spaces.
Inspired by the tradition of outdoor theatre and made possible through partnerships between the City of Anderson and Market Theatre, Theatre in the Park has become a cherished annual event that celebrates creativity, community, and the power of live performance. From Shakespearean comedies to Broadway favorites, each season offers audiences of all ages the opportunity to experience the performing arts in a unique and welcoming setting right here in the heart of Anderson.
Follow us @DowntownAnderson and @TheMarketAnderson for updates and more information about upcoming events!

Please, no glass or outside alcohol. Pets are not allowed.
Yes! Food and beverages are available both on-site and from neighboring downtown restaurants.
Feel free to arrive as early as you’d like as seating is first come, first served. We advise arriving at least 30 minutes early for the best seats.
You are welcome to leave a blanket or lawn chair to save your spot. (Please note: if blankets/chairs are left in designated “reserved” areas, they may be moved slightly by event staff.)
While outdoor shows are free and first come, first served, there are a limited number of reserved seats available at tickets.markettheatre.org.
There are a lot of close parking options! You can view an interactive parking map here.
Yes! Seating is free and you are not required to reserve a ticket or seat beforehand.
However, if you would like the best seats in the house and not have to bring your own chair, there are a limited number of reserved seats available at tickets.markettheatre.org.
Yes! Handicap parking is available and parks are equipped with ramps.
Stay tuned to the Downtown Anderson and Market Theatre social media pages for weather updates and rain plan. While we hope to have a “rain or shine” show, performances may be delayed, relocated, or cancelled in the event of severe weather, such as heavy winds, lightning, or other hazardous conditions.
All are welcome, but Storybook Series performances are designed for families with children ages 4-8.
Storybook performances last between 20-25 minutes. Families are encouraged to arrive early to play at the Linley Park playground and enjoy other activities from vendors and partners, including our friends at the Anderson County Library.
The main Linley Park parking lot is off of Park Drive, and there are also plenty of parallel spots before and after you get to the parking lot. Handicap parking is available and Linley Park is equipped with ramps.
