There’s something special about gathering outdoors on a warm evening, settling in with family and friends, and enjoying a live performance. Since 2015, Theatre in the Park has been creating those memorable moments in Anderson, bringing high-quality productions to some of our community’s most beloved public spaces.

Inspired by the tradition of outdoor theatre and made possible through partnerships between the City of Anderson and Market Theatre, Theatre in the Park has become a cherished annual event that celebrates creativity, community, and the power of live performance. From Shakespearean comedies to Broadway favorites, each season offers audiences of all ages the opportunity to experience the performing arts in a unique and welcoming setting right here in the heart of Anderson.

Shakespeare in the Park

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)

June 11-15, 2026 at 7:30pm Nightly
in North Main Commons at Magnetic South Brewery

Three actors. Every Shakespeare play ever written. One outrageously funny evening. This international smash hit takes audiences through all of Shakespeare’s comedies, histories, and tragedies at breakneck speed and with zero regard for the rules.
 
Full of hilarious improv, over-the-top audience interaction, and more costume changes than you can count, Complete Works is Shakespeare like you’ve never seen before…but will want to see again and again!

Broadway in the Park

Disney’s Frozen: The Broadway Musical

in Carolina Wren Park

The beloved Disney phenomenon comes to life in a spectacular live musical featuring all the songs you love—“Let It Go,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?,” and “Love Is an Open Door”—plus new favorite songs written just for the stage.
 
Join Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and Kristoff on an epic journey of love, magic, and family in one of Disney’s biggest musical hits of all time. A heartwarming event perfect for the whole family live in the park!

Storybook Series at Linley Park

This one-of-a-kind read-aloud experience is perfect for children ages 4–8. Each performance features a live storyteller—and maybe even a few audience helpers!—as beloved children’s books come to life right beside the Linley Park Playground.

Join us every second Saturday morning at 10am from March through September for stories, imagination, and outdoor fun. Make a morning of it and enjoy everything Linley Park has to offer before and after the show!

This event is free and open to the public. We can’t wait to see your family there!

Be sure to bring a lawn chair & sunglasses! In Carolina Wren Park, there’s also a special section reserved for blanket seating.

You’re also welcome to bring a picnic—coolers are allowed, but please no glass or outside alcohol.

Yes! Food and beverages are available both on-site and from neighboring downtown restaurants.

Feel free to arrive as early as you’d like as seating is first come, first served. We advise arriving at least 30 minutes early for the best seats.

You are welcome to leave a blanket or lawn chair to save your spot. (Please note: if blankets/chairs are left in designated “reserved” areas, they may be moved slightly by event staff.)

While outdoor shows are free and first come, first served, there are a limited number of reserved seats available at tickets.markettheatre.org.

There are a lot of close parking options! You can view an interactive parking map here.

Yes! Seating is free and you are not required to reserve a ticket or seat beforehand. 

However, if you would like the best seats in the house and not have to bring your own chair, there are a limited number of reserved seats available at tickets.markettheatre.org.

Yes! Handicap parking is available and parks are equipped with ramps.

Stay tuned to the Downtown Anderson and Market Theatre social media pages for weather updates and rain plan. While we hope to have a “rain or shine” show, performances may be delayed, relocated, or cancelled in the event of severe weather, such as heavy winds, lightning, or other hazardous conditions.

All are welcome, but Storybook Series performances are designed for families with children ages 4-8.

Storybook performances last between 20-25 minutes. Families are encouraged to arrive early to play at the Linley Park playground and enjoy other activities from vendors and partners, including our friends at the Anderson County Library.

The main Linley Park parking lot is off of Park Drive, and there are also plenty of parallel spots before and after you get to the parking lot. Handicap parking is available and Linley Park is equipped with ramps.
