The Recreation Center opened in June 2006 and includes 32,000 square feet of space. Within the center itself there is one gymnasium, one lower-level fitness area, an indoor walking track (1/10 of a mile), cardio and strength equipment, which includes treadmills, ellipitical trainers, bikes (upright, recumbent and spin), stepper and two fitness rooms specific to fitness classes. Yearly membership and day passes are available.
The $5.2 million facility was funded through the Hospitality Fee collections and is ADA accessible. The Complex itself is 25 acres and has 7 lighted youth baseball/softball fields and two lighted multi-purpose. There is a 1300 square-foot, ADA-accessible shelter with restrooms, picnic table seating for 50 along with an outdoor grilling area available to rent. The covered play structure and swings make this an ideal location for birthday parties, family reunions or business outings.
