Covered Bridge

A covered bridge will serve as a key focal anchor across the lake. The architectural feature will enhance views from all points throughout the park.

Intersection Improvements

map of the road improvements
The intersection of Hiawatha Drive and East Greenville Street will be closed permanently to allow SCDOT to install a traffic signal at Mauldin Street and East Greenville Street. The closure will not only eliminate cut-through traffic adjacent to the park, it will provide the opportunity to create an entrance plaza and additional parking for visitors.

Cost

The improvements will cost $5.8 million, paid for by a reinvestment of Hospitality Tax funds.

Schedule

The project is scheduled to be substantially complete by December 2025.
