Marcy is the owner and founder of Ninth and August and has spent more than 10 years behind the chair specializing in color and extensions. Her vision for the salon came from a desire to create something more—a space where clients can relax, recharge, and feel truly pampered, while also creating an environment where stylists can build careers they’re proud of.

Teaching, mentoring, and helping other stylists grow is one of Marcy’s biggest passions. She loves continuing to learn herself and believes there is so much opportunity in the beauty industry when stylists are given the right tools, encouragement, and environment to succeed. Ninth and August is her opportunity to pour that passion into both her clients and the stylists who call the salon home.

And bringing that vision to life has definitely been a family affair! Marcy’s husband, Jonathan, has been a huge part of making Ninth and August a reality, tackling much of the salon’s remodeling himself. When he isn’t working on the salon, Jonathan stays plenty busy as the Vice President of Global Sales for a fintech company, volunteering on the Inspire Abilities board, coaching soccer, and preparing for a run for school board.

Together, Marcy and Jonathan are raising four children and somehow finding time between dance, sports, work, volunteering, traveling, and the occasional Starbucks run to build something they’re incredibly excited to share with the community.

Ninth and August Beauty Lounge is more than a salon—it’s a place for people to feel cared for, careers to grow, and community to happen.
