HOW TO REPORT STREETLIGHT OUTAGES

For street lights in general, City crews are out at night every month to inspect, tag, and report street light outages to Duke Energy.  With over 500 streets/200+ miles of streets, crews divide the City into manageable areas to survey, meaning that each area is surveyed for outages in a systematic manner. In addition, staff responds to citizen calls about street light outages.  Our staff relays these work orders to Duke Energy, and Duke responds once completed.

Street lights are a city-provided benefit that we are proud to provide.  It is a sign of livability and progress, and obviously and we want them to be functioning properly.  Citizens can call us (Public Works at 864-231-2246) and report outages or they can report outages directly by using Duke Energy’s online reporting at the address below.  A citizen who reports it through this Duke website will receive the completed work order report.
